Welcome to the HEEON website, home of the Higher Education Equal Opportunities Network.
HEEON has been active since 1992 and, as far as we are aware, is the only independent network of equality and diversity practitioners, and those interested in equal opportunities in higher education, in the sector.  Members of its steering group are actively involved in making the voice of our members, including approximately 90 corporate members, heard on national working groups and in publications.

We exist to: 
provide support, information, stimulation, validation, encouragement and sharing of good practice for those seeking to achieve and sustain equality of opportunity, diversity and widening participation in Higher Education, including matters relating to employment, career progression, student admission, retention and progression, learning and teaching, research and enterprise.

We also aspire to:
Forge alliances through which to encourage planning and funding bodies into taking equality issues into account.
